First Snow

Even after growing up in the mid-west with snow every winter, I still get a thrill that first time I wake up in the morning and there is snow covering the ground. I always have to put my boots and coat on and go out and walk in it.

It may not last long, but we had our first snow this morning that actually stuck to the ground. Just a hint of what is to come!

This is my last blog update until December 1. I will be away for the Thanksgiving Holiday and visiting family and friends for the next few weeks.

Winter Snow Storm

I took this picture along the Gunflint Trail yesterday because I really like the rock formations and it showed how little snow we have left. Outside of the deep woods almost all the snow is gone. The lake still has a good 18 inches on it so I don't expect to see open water any time soon.

To my surprise, I got up this morning and it is snowing out. Looking at the weather forecast we are under a winter storm warning starting tonight and tomorrow and we could get a few inches of the white stuff.

Our spring canoe order arrives tomorrow so I will be carrying in canoes in snow again this year.
